Mini was explaining to me why each year seems to go by quicker then the last. It’s all about percentages and frames of reference. For instance if you are five years old then one year is 20% of all of the time you have known and everything you have experienced. That’s a pretty big number. He’s twelve and one year is only 8% of his total experience.

“So you see Dad at your advanced age, one year is just a tiny fraction of your total experience. The years must just be flying past for you.”

Whoever it was that said kids keep you young was sadly misinformed. Want to know the secret of staying young? Here it is…

So here we are at our new cyberhome. What do you think of it? It was certainly much more difficult to move then I thought it would be. I won’t bore you with the gory details, but yeah, it was frustrating. There are a couple of people I would like to thank for helping me get this done. Rori from <Between My Sheets> contacted me and asked if there was anything she could do to help. I can’t express enough what that meant. I knew her from the <Sexy Bloggers List>she compiled last year and I’d read her blog, but we’d never really corresponded. To have a virtual stranger say, “can I help?” made a world of difference. She got it installed and got lots of the bugs worked out and gave me the confidence not to just abandon the whole damn thing.

There were a few things even Rori couldn’t fix and in a weird way that was also good. Up until then I was feeling very stupid. I look around and see gazillions of self-hosted blogs, how freakin’ hard can it be? So when someone who obviously knows lots gets stymied…well, it was reassuring. I did some research online (something I should have done before I even started) and I found Joel the  <Blog Tech Guy> this guy is amazing. He explained things in a language that I could understand and I never felt like he was talking down to me. He told me how long it would take to get it done and he was right on with his estimate. He kept me informed of what he was doing and what he would be doing next. If you’re thinking of hosting your own blog or you’re having any technical difficulties…talk to Joel. You won’t be disappointed.

The reason we wanted to move to a self-hosted site wasn’t because we thought we could make money at this. We really just wanted to have a little more freedom in what we wrote about. For instance we get asked all the time to write reviews on all sorts of stuff (books, videos, toys…) and wordpress.com doesn’t allow that.  Be warned, if you have a free wordpress blog and you promote a product or service that makes money (even if you yourself aren’t making anything) they can delete your sorry ass. Seriously. Don’t worry, we’re not going to have a bunch of advertising on here and it’s not going to be product reviews all the time, but I think there’s room on here to do some reviews and if things go well we might even be able to give some stuff away.

<AAG>gives lots of stuff away on her site and as a recent recipient of said swag. It rocks! AAG is the first blogger who I read on a regular basis and she’s still my first stop when I check my blog-roll. I realized as I was transferring our blog-roll over one link at a time that the lifespan of a blog isn’t very long. Bloggers get bored or busy with other things or they just run out of things to say. AAG manages to write something new five days a week and more often then not, she lives up to her middle name.

And what, you might ask, did AAG send us? She sent us <Superfreak> from <Blowfish Video>I guess I’ve been watching the wrong kind of porn because I was surprised at how real the sex seemed and how professional the production was. ♀ just looked over my shoulder and said, “the sex seemed real only if you can buy into the whole ghost thing.”

You see there’s this ghost who inhabits various women and makes them get super-freaky with one another. It’s a quirky kinda premise for a porn flick, but really it wasn’t any less believable then Ron Jeremy as a pizza delivery boy.  I think the best way to rate a movie is how many orgasms were achieved before you get to the end for the firsttime (In my rating system, orgasms achieved from re-watching a scene only count if we watched it again…and got off to it…before we actually finished the movie). The movie is 60 minutes long and it took us 2 nights to finish watching it. We both had big O’s both nights. There is also a bonus DVD with trailers and out takes, but she wasn’t feeling very well and only I got off watching that. So I think that’s pretty good…five big O’s between us. Just as an fyi, ♀ gave me permission to masturbate a couple of weeks ago and I watched the final scene of  Superfreak as a…ummm…visual aid.

So, have you heard the news? After a long hiatus, O from Eros-Logos has started writing again and I am thrilled. Her writing is sharp, devastatingly honest, beautiful…and when I read her blog I realize my writing needs a lot of work. I’ve never seen a picture of O, but for a bunch of reasons this photo has always reminded me of her.

I don’t know where I found this pic so if you are the rightful owner please email me and I’ll give you your due credit.

Well, I guess that’s it for tonight. ♀ & I would like to thank you for visiting us here at our new spot and wish all of you a rockin’ good 2009!

Cheers,

newyear
