Half-Nekkid Anniversary Pt2

September 16, 2009

I’ve been told, on more then one occasion, that there’s a special place in hell for people who make a bride cry on her wedding day.   I even made ♀ cry on our wedding day.

What happened was a couple of months after she’d proposed to me, ♀ found ‘the perfect’ wedding/engagement ring set. I think it was at an estate sale. Mere weeks later I found a wedding band that I really liked at a  jewelery store closing out sale. It didn’t match her set, but we were trying to keep our expenses down.

I secretly took my band into a jeweler friend of mine and had him make a wedding band to match it for ♀. When we exchanged our I do’s I had this new ring for her and she burst into tears. Like I said, I’ve got a knack.

She had her engagement ring and the wedding band I had made soldered together and wears the other band (the one from the original set) on her other hand.

To celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary I decided to replace the diamond in her ring. I didn’t really know anything about diamonds other then they sparkle and they’re expensive. I was going to tell you all about the weight (0.21) and the colour (G) and the clarity (VS2), but I decided you’d rather just see it

diamond

So what did we do with the original diamond? Well, I had both of my parents wedding bands and shortly after Mini was born his mother gave me a gold bracelet that I never did like. So we took the two bands and the bracelet and the little diamond into my jeweler friend and this is what he came up with…

rings

The first two rings are my parents, the smallest ring and the post were made from the bracelet and the diamond is at the bottom of the post. All three rings spin freely on that post, so normally they would lay flat.

Pretty cool, huh? Oh and the cami’s kinda cute too, dontchyathink?
