I’ve blogged before about doing the ‘service-top’ thing and how it’s led to super hot fucking. And I guess I chalked up that intensity to ♀ imagining a Dom caning or spanking or flogging or using the wheel…regardless, ♀ gets very excited and that’s a huge turn-on for me and that leads to the super hot fucking.

Last night was different. In the interest of full disclosure, I admit that ♀ did mention that she might enjoy being flogged, so it’s not like I dragged her by the scruff of the neck into the bedroom and demanded she assume the position, but still…

   When the mood strikes you, “pun intended” Part of being a good top is being able to know how your bottoms are reacting to your relentless abuse. After all beating a dead horse doesn’t do anything for the horse and just makes your arm tired. But taking one for the team doesn’t mean you’re going to step up to the plate every time you get a good pitcher either.
   Experimentation and trying new things is certainly one way to keep it real and makes life interesting. If by trying this and you like it then by all means do some more testing and see where it goes, it’s not like you can’t go back to the closet and put on that silk dress and those high heels again and if this facet of the life style works for you and your partner then you can add it to the list and pull it out when you need or want to.

   I don’t like the term service top. A sane dominant feeds of the bottom’s pleasure in submission as much as the willingly given suffering and pain.

   Likewise a switch is someone who can enjoy both roles. The degree and quality of the pleasure doesn’t matter for the label to be useful.

   More and more diversity and variability of gender, orientation (sexual and power exchange) threatens to leave me unable to use very useful labels.
